| Greyhound Adoption of Greater Rochester, NY is dedicated to matching the right greyhound with the right family. We prefer to select a greyhound for a family based on a family profile that is sent to one of the tracks that supply greyhounds to us. The kennel workers at the track know their dogs and are able to select dogs that are child friendly (we adopt to homes with children 5 and older) and cat friendly for those families that consist of children over five and cats or other small animals. They can also pass along to us personality and energy level traits that help us to make a good match. We want both our adoptive families and our greyhounds to get off to the best possible start. Occasionally, we have dogs that are immediately available like the ones that appear on this page. Our adoption fee is $250 which includes: spay/neuter, dental cleaning, up to date shots, new martingale collar and matching lead and the "Retired Racing Greyhounds for Dummie", book. If you are interested in adopting a greyhound from us, go to the Forms section, download the Adoption Application and send it in or email us through the Contact Us link
CM Citylights (Denver)

Cm Citylights (Denver) - Denver is a very, very sweet 11 year old (dob = 7/11/1997) fawn male. He was recently turned in to Lollypop Farm who called GAGR. He is in foster care now and is doing well with the family's small dog, greyhound and cats. He loves children and gets very excited to see them. Denver deserves a wonderful, caring family of his own to live out his last years. Lollypop Farm was kind enough to update his shots and heartworm test him. Please open your hearts and home to this wonderful older gentleman. Adoption fee waived for approved home.
What a Dish (Rose)

What a Dish (Rose) - Rose is a beautiful dark brindle female. She is tiny and petite and is two years old. Rose is friendly and outgoing and is also good with cats and small animals.
Xmas in the Hood (Riley)

Xmas In The Hood (Riley) - News from his foster Mom: Riley is an average size dark brindle male. He loves being around his family and other greyhounds, but is not small animal friendly and would do best with older children. Riley is very smart and responds well to positive reinforcement. Riley loves to give hugs and jumps up when he's excited. He loves walks and is very curious about any new sounds or moving objects that he may encounter. He will need an understanding home that is willing to work with him and help him understand what he needs to do. He truly does want to please you, he just needs some help knowing how to do that. He is a snuggly boy who is affectionate and just loves to be near his humans. He definitely needs a home with a fenced yard and would probably do better with other greyhounds. He is not a good candidate for a first time greyhound owner. Riley has been waiting for over two months for his forever home. Please consider giving him his forever home! You won't regret it!
JRB's Molly (Molly)

Additional News from her foster family: JRB's Molly (Molly) - Molly is a black female who weighs 61 lbs. She would make a great family dog and is very friendly. Molly is calm and a true joy. She loves her walks and the children she meets. She gets along well with our other greyhound.Very playful and loves stuffed squeaky toys.
Molly was retested for cat friendliness. When she came she was rated as cat correctible. We tested her again and she thought the cats looked like good playmates but she showed no prey drive toward them. They just looked like they might be fun. We were able to call Molly's name and she looked away from the cats. Molly is very cat correctible, we are happy to report.
Dance Queen (Danielle)

Dance Queen (Danielle) - Danielle is a sweet, happy, white/red female. She is a tiny girl weighing in at 55 lbs. Danielle is doing great with the cats in her foster home. She will be three in August. Her foster mom says she is a joy!
